On Building Quietly

Most personal sites are portfolios: a highlight reel, curated after the fact, showing only what worked. This one is trying to be something closer to a garden — a place that shows the process, not just the harvest.

That means unfinished projects get written up too. A homelab experiment that stalled halfway is still worth documenting; the dead end is often the useful part. It means the “Now” page can say “learning X” without X being mastered yet.

It also shapes what doesn’t go here: no engagement bait, no cookie banners, no algorithm deciding who sees a post. Just Markdown files, committed to Git, rendered into a site that loads fast and asks nothing of the people reading it.
