I'm Ayomiposi Sotomi, a final-year Cybersecurity student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). I also freelance as a web developer. I've lived in Nigeria all my life, and when I want to understand a system, my first instinct is usually to take it apart.

My main interest is defensive security: the work of keeping systems running and making them harder to compromise. Alongside that, I build websites for clients and tinker with a homelab. Right now, it's a Docker-based media and automation setup, but I plan to move it to a dedicated Proxmox server. Self-hosting has taught me more than most tutorials ever did. Eventually, I'd like to start a cybersecurity consulting firm.

Growing up, the hardest lessons weren't technical. They were about expectations. You reach one goal, then another one is already waiting. If you're not careful, you can spend your life chasing the next thing without deciding what "enough" means for yourself. Learning to say no helped more than anything else. That's a big part of why I care about self-expression, and why I try to give people room before judging them.

This site is my attempt to keep all of those interests in one place. You'll find occasional essays about things I keep turning over in my head, write-ups from homelab experiments and other projects, and a Now page. It saves me from scattering everything across Substack, GitHub, and social media. I don't think of myself as a writer, exactly. Mostly, I write to make sense of my own thoughts and pay attention to ordinary things.

I want this to feel more like a quiet garden than a portfolio. The point is to show the process, not only the polished final result. Some posts will be about finished projects. Others will be about half-built experiments, mistakes, and things that didn't work.
