Privacy Policy

This site is static — Markdown files rendered into HTML, with no server, no database, and no user accounts. That keeps what it can collect about you to almost nothing by construction, not just by policy.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no "essential" cookies used as a workaround. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, does not track you across sites, does not build a profile of you, and does not use any client-side identifier — it reports aggregate numbers (which pages were visited, roughly when, from what kind of browser), not who you are. This site never sees IP addresses or any per-visitor data from it.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard connection metadata (like your IP address) as part of serving the site, the same way any web host does.

The newsletter signup form (in the footer and at the end of posts) submits your email address directly to Buttondown, the third-party service that sends the newsletter. This site's own code never receives, stores, or sees that address — there's no server here to store it on. Buttondown requires you to confirm your email before you're subscribed (double opt-in), and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Slow claps

Posts have a "slow clap" button instead of comments. Clap counts are anonymous totals stored on this site's own infrastructure (a Cloudflare Worker). To keep counts honest, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept for up to 24 hours and then expires — the address itself is never stored, and nothing ties a clap to you.

Your rights

This site itself collects no personal data — there's nothing here to request access to, correct, or delete. If you've subscribed to the newsletter, those rights (access, correction, deletion) apply to the data Buttondown holds on their end; unsubscribing removes you from future sends, and you can also contact Buttondown directly to request deletion of your subscriber record.
